<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">Sous les plumes de paon de sa couverture, <a title="Site de l'éditeur" href="https://www.editions-lepommier.fr/yeux" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Yeux</em></a> de <a title="Wikipedia" href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Serres" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michel Serres</a> (1930-2019) aborde une question philosophique mêlée de science et d’esthétique : qu’est-ce que <em>« voir et être vu »</em> ? Le philosophe des sciences, grand ami des lettres, y déploie une vision du monde où le monde aussi nous regarde – ce qu’il montre en une centaine de pages. Un essai court, dense, déconcertant mais stimulant, à lire en prenant le temps de comprendre cette optique nouvelle.</span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://textespretextes.blogspirit.com/media/01/01/3734013738.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img id="media-1138340" style="margin: 0.7em 0;" title="" src="http://textespretextes.blogspirit.com/media/01/01/343055147.jpg" alt="michel serres" /></a></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';"><em>« Laissez-moi voir le monde comme je crois que cet artiste le voit. Laissez-moi rêver qu’un peintre voit les choses comme je les vois et suis vu par elles. Ainsi voudrais-je que ce livre, qui va parler de la vision, de la peinture et du monde, fonctionne lui-même comme une toile, c’est-à-dire comme un regard ; que ces pages captent, stockent, traitent, émettent de la lumière, comme l’artiste et son tableau le font ! »</em> Et Serres d’énumérer toutes ces choses vues qui le voient et <em>« brillent donc comme des yeux »</em>, certaines plus que d’autres, chacune à sa manière, comme cela varie aussi chez les êtres vivants.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">Un <a title="Extrait original en français juste après sa traduction en anglais" href="https://christopherwatkin.com/2020/03/13/platos-cave-michel-serres-and-imagining-nietzsches-madman-happy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extrait</a> de <em>L’Etoile du Sud</em> de Jules Verne est le texte programmatique de cette réflexion, le moment où les deux héros découvrent dans une grotte immense tapissée de stalactites un spectacle grandiose – <em>« Rochers d’améthyste, murailles de sardoines, banquises de rubis, aiguilles d’émeraude, colonnades de saphirs, profondes et élancées comme des forêts de sapins (…) »</em>. Et voici son analyse : <em>« Cette caverne de Verne inverse celle, célèbre, où Platon retient, dans l’illusion, des prisonniers (…) ; ici, mille éclats nocturnes éblouissent, comme si les pierres s’illuminaient, qu’elles se voyaient les unes les autres. »</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';"><em>« Comme tout animal sauvage qui chasse, le savoir est nyctalope. »</em> Le jour et la nuit pour Michel Serres : <em>« Le jour fait croire à l’unicité du vrai. En réalité, la pensée ressemble infiniment moins à lui qu’à la nuit où chaque étoile brille comme un diamant, où chaque galaxie ruisselle comme une rivière de perles, où toute planète, comme un miroir, renvoie à sa façon les lueurs qu’elle reçoit. »</em> Il y aurait tant à citer dans ce chapitre préliminaire (<em>Voir et être vu</em>) où le philosophe voit la pensée scintiller dans la caverne de Verne, le contraste lumineux nourrir le cerveau <em>« pour construire son interprétation du monde ». </em></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">Il vaut mieux avoir un dictionnaire ou le TLF à portée de main pour suivre en chemin cette pensée éblouie et éblouissante. Si peu de prévisible dans ce texte, non seulement parce qu’il est parsemé de mots rares, jusqu’à la préciosité parfois, mais parce qu’au mouvement de la réflexion se mêlent sensations, gestes, questions, anecdotes qui permettent de conjuguer l’abstrait et le concret. <em>« Yeux de… »</em> : les titres des onze chapitres qui suivent commencent tous de cette façon (<em>« Yeux de pierre »</em>, <em>« Yeux de hêtres »</em>, <em>« Yeux de bêtes »...</em>)</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';"><em>« Panoptique : aménagé de telle sorte que d’un point de l’édifice on puisse en voir tout l'intérieur »</em> (TLF). Le monde fait signe. C’est là l’invitation portée par cet essai, tourné vers la lecture, l’écriture, la peinture, la représentation et aussi vers les sciences qui montrent le monde <em>« partout dense de matière et d’information »</em> inséparables. Les ocelles, ces taches rondes et colorées comme des yeux sur les plumes du paon, Michel Serres nous raconte leur origine (mythologique) et les fait voir aussi où nous ne les percevions pas.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">Cartes de la mer et du ciel (souvenirs de la Garonne ou de son apprentissage de jeune <em>« midship »</em>), vitraux gothiques, catalogue Pantone, <a title="Un beau compte rendu de Marc Michiels (Le mot & la chose)" href="http://www.lemotlachose.com/yeux-michel-serres-editions-le-pommier/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">l’œil du philosophe</a> n’est pas moins attentif que son oreille – <em>« Car chacun, je crois, dispose d’un sens majeur ; les cinq ne sont pas distribués, pour tous, avec homogénéité. Tels privilégient l’ouïe, le goût, d’autres le tact, l’odorat ou la vue. Il faut entraîner ceux qui traînent. »</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">Révélation lorsqu’il descend dans un puits, kinesthésie, balade dans une forêt au crépuscule, musée d’Alice Springs en Australie, tout lui est source d’émerveillement. Serres qui a grandi dans une famille <em>« qui ne possédait aucun livre »</em> se rappelle sa mère désolée de le voir en train de lire et s’écriant <em>« Je suis une poule qui a couvé un canard »</em> !</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';"><a title="A voir ou revoir sur la chaine Youtube, une conférence exceptionnelle de Michel Serres sur « Yeux » (18/12/2014) – à la 13e minute, il la commence par une boutade sur le « sérieux »" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qFdYgjWg9s" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Yeux</em> de Michel Serres</a> a de quoi impressionner et <span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', 'serif';">tout n’est pas compréhensible au premier abord</span>, mais le message passe. A l’intérieur des chapitres, les séquences portent elles-mêmes un titre, ce qui permet de reprendre sa respiration et de faire le point tout au long de l’essai. On s’arrête aussi aux belles formules, voire aux pirouettes – clins d’yeux de ce <em>« ce passeur généreux toujours en éveil, à l’écoute des voix et des bruits du monde, à contre-courant et visionnaire »</em> (Martin Legros, <a title="Martin Legros, Michel Serres. cette période d’après Charlie, il est clair qu’il faut prendre au sérieux ce survol de drones sur Paris. A priori, ils n’ont montré aucune hostilité. Les tenants du complot permanent affirment néanmoins qu’ils étaient en reconnaissance et qu’il faudra s’attendre à des attaques en règle. On ne peut certes négliger une folie terroriste. Une telle technologie s’apprend et se maîtrise.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Tant qu’il s’agit pour quelques amateurs de rapporter d’inédites photos de Paris ou d’ailleurs, on ne peut qu’en sourire. Cependant, (mais nos responsables politiques semblent avoir pris conscience d’un éventuel danger que représenteraient des drones utilisés d’une façon criminelle), les fantasmes s’amoncellent ne serait-ce quand on pense à des lieux stratégiques, à des centrales nucléaires, à des barrages ou même à de simples lieux habités. <p style="text-align: center;"><img id="media-39846" style="margin: 0.7em 0;" title="" src="http://charleroi.blogspirit.com/media/92/verne6.jpg" alt="monstre, verne" /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: FR; mso-fareast-language: FR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Le capitaine Nemo, naviguant dans les océans du globe à bord de son célèbre sous-marin Nautilus, est dans toutes les mémoires… Cette odyssée, retracée dans « Vingt mille lieues sous les mers » de Jules Verne, les spectateurs du Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi ( peu nombreux, on se demande pourquoi !!!) ont pu la suivre à travers </span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: FR-BE; mso-fareast-language: FR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;" lang="FR-BE">un spectacle oscillant entre conte fantastique et théâtre d’objets décalés, dans une mise en scène de Sydney Bernard. Vers la fin, les spectateurs ont été bien surpris de voir d’immenses tentacules se déployer dans leur direction !
